Reptiles In Details

When I took my first macro picture of a chameleon, I was surprised how interesting and beautiful it looked. I took a closer look at various reptiles inhibiting Riga Zoo and sometimes the structures and shapes of reptile anatomy, their scaly skin, claws and various appendages reminded me of cliffs, canyons or even asteroids floating in space. I was curious to see close-ups of these different body parts to try to understand how these adaptations help them survive in the wild.

Pictures were taken from 2011 till 2013 in Riga National Zoological Garden.
Exhibited in Riga Zoo since the 28th of December 2018. You can find photos from the opening of the exhibition here.
