I was born in Latvia and lived there until I moved to Finland in 2018. I am a visual person and started taking photographs as a teenager with an old soviet film camera because I wanted to capture the moments that I found beautiful, and since then, photography has always been my passion and sometimes a source of income. It started simply with sunsets, the countryside, and Daugavpils Fortress. Later, I took photos wherever I felt like doing it, basically documenting my own life – during my studies of biology at the University of Latvia, enjoying Latvian nature, working as a hydrobiologist and zookeeper while living in Riga, working in Daugavpils Fortress, or visiting other places.
From 2009 to 2015, I was fascinated by urban exploration and photography of abandoned places and urban environments. The results of my urban exploration experience were showcased in 2014, in the exhibition “Ghosts” in the Latvian Museum of Photography.
Daugavpils Fortress is a special place for me. I first started exploring it back in my childhood and became seriously interested in the history of the place. I even worked there from 2014 to 2018 – organising events, guiding tours, and creating visual materials. Many photos were taken there, including a photo series of “Changing Fortress”, which you can find on the page Exhibitions.
On December 28th, 2018, my exhibition of macro photography “Reptiles in Details” was opened at Riga Zoo Terrarium.
My latest exhibition, “The Haunting Heritage”, was on display from the 11th of August until the 10th of September 2023 at Kuusisto Art Manor, on Kuusisto island near Turku.
Since 2020, I have gradually started learning about graphic design and doing commissions for research projects.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in commissioning an illustration, infographic or graphic design project, or a photography project. I am open to different ideas, from shooting macro and portraits to architecture and events, as well as guiding photography and illustration workshops. I am always interested in trying and learning something new!
